Sam's Felix

Sam looks so handsome in sweaters.  I had to make him a preppy cardigan.  It remains to be seen how it is going to fit him.  I am flying to Boston this afternoon and then he will be able  to try it on in between cuddles.
The pattern is here.  I really liked the pattern and the directions are great.  Next time I would shape the sleeves.
I used Plymouth Yarn on close out at Webs. here I see they are running out of colors.  Glad I stocked up when it first went onto clearance.  It is DK, but really so full I would think it is a little more like a worsted.  Of course I didn't do a swatch.....so....what do I know.
I have the same yarn in another color that is now sold out. It is packed and going with me so I can make a pullover sweater for Sam's big brother Leo while I am in Boston.
I have also packed airplane sock knitting, and green cotton for a Yoga wrap for my daughter.  I will be holding babies so probably won't get a lot of knitting done, but you never know. There are after all all those hours between midnight and six am.

Puerperium

Knitting for Samuel has been getting me through some pretty rough days this past week.
My favorite newborn sweater pattern has to be Puerperium It is so darn cute with it's little row of buttons down the side.
And then there is the absolute sweetness of my son with his little boy Samuel.
I made the top sweater with worsted on size 6 needles.

This little sweater is in DK on size 7 needles. They turned out about the same size.
Sam was over 8 pounds at birth and growing fast.

Samuel

One more week and I will be holding this little Sam. Gramma is flying to Boston.

I Went To The Sale

Webs is having a big sale.Webs
I am lost in it.
That is where you will find me.
Running like a lunatic between Ravelry patterns and inspiration ideas and Webs row after row of woolly, silky, threads.
My Paypal is molten.
I may need an intervention. This is going to go on til end of May.
this is not my picture so credit goes to the genius that created it.  This is what wool does.  It goes crazy.

Gone The Sun

My favorite time of the day.
Evenings on the lanai relaxing and sanding down some edges on Cottage Shabby Chic wood working projects.

Watching the sun go down on another Florida Monday.
Day is done.

Two Little Boys

Happy to announce that Leo and Samuel have come face to face!
Samuel was in the NICU in the hospital and Leo couldn't visit him there.  It was decided to wait for the homecoming four days later.

I am chomping at the bit plane tickets in hand to get to Boston and see these little boys for myself.  There are pictures and then there is the real sniffing, kissing, and embrace as Leo attests to here.
This photo just melts my mother's heart.

Gramma Anne

While I wait I am knitting and these little booties are finished.
They are called Stay-on Booties... We shall see about that. I never met a pair of booties that stayed on. Stay-on Booties

Easter

We had a wonderful afternoon at daughter's house.
The kids were so happy and Easter was a beautiful day.

My daughter is a wonderful cook!!!

We had fun in all the ways of Candy and Bunnies and Baskets and Eggs
and we toasted the happy couple on their engagement. Gramma had some champagne and had to lie down on the couch.  It was perfect.
