Miracle

I had a miracle in my life today. Answered prayer. I bought this in celebration and hope it brings a blessing to who ever wears it...

I may just wear it myself close to my own heart.
May blessings also flow to this handsome young man who made it.

I will pray for him as I have prayed for my son.
This is his story as told by his adoptive mother on the web site where she sells his art;
" John, at the age of 4, survived the Rwandan genocide with a bullet in his leg. He witnessed the massacre of his village and murder of his entire family. Now an adult living in Uganda, he attends a middle school to get the education so long denied him. The last photo is John where he lives in his pastor’s office in the church. We share a deep and abiding faith and love for the Lord and each other, as well as a talent for jewelry design.
I was so shocked to hold the jewelry John gave me and learn from him that he made the beads from paper and varnish. John uses paper, seed beads, seeds, shells, barrel beads, wood, and stretchy cord for his bracelets. Needless to say, I treasure the jewelry he gave me and I know you will feel the same way about your new piece."
Thank you Lord.  Thank you for this Grace for my family and friends who have prayed with me for the words you helped us write in our letters and pleas. Thank you Lord God for shining a light in the darkness.
Intercession prayer is Devine and Holy

Baby Doll

Making a baby doll

Get this book of toy designs if you haven't already. There is not one thing in here that I don't want to make.  All of her designs are magical and fun and clearly written so that even if you have never done a kitchener stitch you will be able to do it on the very first try. Imagine knitting thumbs and a nose and pearly little baby ears!

I stayed up way to late again to make little thumbs. They are just right for jamming in a little mouth.
like this one!
Little baby girl I love so much.  All snug in her Christmas pj's.

Wee Fingerless Mitts

Wee Sucky Thumb Mitts
the sweetest mitts
I never dreamed I'd be making and mailing wee little mitts to San Francisco....but I am!  If you love fingerless mitts or have wee ones to make gifts for these will fly off your needles... thanks to this wonderful pattern free on Ravelry
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sucky-thumb-mitts  by Marianne Cant
My favorite is the little sparkling red pair.  Really truly fast and simple to make. I use size 2 US DP needles for infant to 12 month size and size 3 US DP needles for 12-24 month size with worsted weight.
So fun and great stocking stuffers.

Christmas Tree

family traditions
Mama Biz, Lola and Leo are enjoying Leo's second Christmas.   Last year at this time he was a wee babe in swaddling blankets.  Now one short year later he is helping to put the ornaments on the family tree.
Mom and Dad are no doubt snuggled on the couch enjoying a glass of wine. The tree is magnificent. Leo is asleep in his crib and Lola asleep in her bed.
For Unto Us a Child is Born.
and we celebrate with lights, traditions,  family.
