Hi Peaches, Yes I knit it the same as the pattern but if I make another and I will... I will make an extra plain st st row between each increase row on the tail. I think the tail is way to stubby as the pattern is written. I love this little snake though. When I made it with worsted weight it came out HUGE and I loved it. There is a picture of it on here someplace. Anne
