Etsy Friends and Stitch Markers

Made especially for me by Charlotte
One of the best benefits of my working on my Etsy shop has been meeting wonderful other shop owners.  Today I would like to introduce you to Charlotte.  She hand makes beautiful hypoallergenic jewelry with gem stones from her shop in Montana.  I recently made a swap with her she 'purchased' hand knit baby items from me and I 'purchased gorgeous garnet and 925 silver stud earrings from her.  I have wanted garnets for every. They are my birthstone and I love simple studs that I can leave in for days on end and not have to fiddle are fuddle around looking for earrings on my way to work in the mornings.
Well SURPRISE SURPRISE
Inside the awaited package delivering my earrings was a gorgeous set of stitch markers made especially for me to use in my knitting.  I have only every used plastic circle stitch markers so these are like HEAVEN.  They sparkle and shine and glimmer and are so silky smooth.  I used them with homespun yarn and they didn't get snagged and helped me keep track of the thumb gusset I was making on these blue fingerless mitts.
Thank you Charlotte your wonderful.

The One Snake to Love

My knitted snake is so loved by this little guy.  I really do not heart snakes.   I had to make a major shift in my willingness to embrace knitted toys to make this one...
Now I want to make more.  It was fun and it is soooo loved.
So I am telling my self snakes are good.
Snakes alive.
I love knitting for children.

Etsy My New Passion

Leo in his sock monkey hat

I love working on Etsy. I have met so many talented home artists.  Daily I get to sift through image after image of amazing work. The variety astounds me.  Oddly enough I have found myself liking many styles that I never would have considered a month ago.  On closer inspection of these pieces I see the attention to detail, the hard work, the love that goes into each piece and get to 'meet' their makers....truly inspiring.  Here is one store I stumbled across and was so impressed with how much joy is put into these pieces of jewelry.  That is the best part of Etsy to me ...being able to be at home working in a craft you love, share it, sell it, and make friends. Ideal situation.  Take a look and if your new to Etsy take a longer look around.  Like a good book it is hard to stop once you start and unlike a good book there is no 'ending' you get to enjoy it over and over and more and more.
enjoy and take a look at this new friends work. I like the peace sign, but then I am an old hippy.

Wee Baby Doll Rescue

Today I went out with Mya to rescue homeless babies from Goodwill.  This big newborn size doll came home with us. Mya ever loving knows instinctively how to give these wee  babes some hugs and love right away.  She is so sweet.

Hats

Hats have caught my attention lately and I have spent a lot of time thinking about them. Funny that I live in South Florida and rarely wear a hat.  I want to make more funny hats for all ages...If there were just more hours in the day.
Here is my red headed Grandson Leo sporting his froggy hat.
