Eden's Cocoon

Eden's Cocoon designed by me for my soon to be  born Great Niece Eden Elizabeth.  I think I had more fun with the bow than with any thing else. Soft slippery double sided satin ribbon in a lovely ivory.  I cannot wait for this wee little baby to be born.
for Eden Elizabeth
This was made with a homespun bulky yarn.  It is meant to be used as a photo prop only as the beautiful ribbon tie would not be safe for use as bedding or clothing.  Underneath is one of my Mom's hand pieced and quilted quilts.  It is my favorite quilt and the cotton is as soft as Eden will be.

Rust and Amber Sky Cowl

rust and amber sky cowl
beaded

I have had so much fun making cowls.   They are fast and satisfying.  This was an easy knit as I just CO using size 10 double pointed needles 80 stitches.  after knitting a row I purled a couple of rows then I knit for 1/2 inch and started an eyelet row by pm and then k3 k2tog and yo all the way around to marker.  I knit for a couple of inches and then did 4 rows of purl. Then I knit for a couple more inches and did the eyelet row again and knit a couple of rows...purled a couple of rows and loosely bound off the knitting.  The fun part was weaving a satin ribbon into the eyelet rows and then dotting the center purl rows with glass beads. Fun!
used one skein of yarn.
I designed this to sell in my Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/weelambieknits  It is my own creation.
Please do not make this pattern to sell without giving me the credit for the design.
I will be happy for you to make oodles of money on it but would like a wee mention.
thanks Anne

There is a Giraffe in the Room Part Two

Not so Itty Bitty Giraffe
All that is left is to make umpty 11 hundred pompoms for the ends of the horns, the mane and the end of the tail and then assemble....and embroider the Mr Giraffe's face.   Susan B. Anderson is a genius for designing this great toy.  What I really am amazed at is that God made 2 of these one Mr and one Mrs.   He has a lot more skill.

There is a Giraffe in the Room

I am making Giraffe by Susan B. Anderson from her wonderful book itty-bitty toys http://etsytradeaholics.blogspot.com/  Her patterns are so delightful and if you have ever made one you will become as enchanted as I have and want to make them all.  This is being made for a good friend.  She is going to give it to her brother's next wee baby to be born after the first of the year.  I shall have him finished by then.  I chose Caron worsted in 'Sunflower' and a rusty pumpkin color for the 2nd color way.  There are lots of bits that I can't wait to start.  All the legs are done now and half the ears.  Then the fun part, spots, and funny little horns, mane and tail.  When the face is embroidered...a name will emerge. One always does.
and yes it is one of the legs.

Love Bug Skulls and Lace

designed by Beaufulah \\

This polka dot skulls dress was designed and made by my Facebook friend Marybeth. You can find her Etsy shop here:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/beaufulah?ref=pr_shop_more
What I love about Marybeth's designs is the way she has of cutting the sweetness in her darling line of children's clothing with some funky stuff like skulls!  We love our children because they are so sweet, but what makes me really REALLY love them is the way they make me look at things over again with their new eyes.  This little dress does that too and perfectly.
