3 Day Weekends

Have been under the weather this week. My eyes are still not healed completely from cataract surgery. I am having a rebound effect from coming off the steroid drops and the treatment is to go back on them for four more weeks. Haven't felt much like blogging.
Here are some things I am working on though.

I decorated flip flops.

If I perfect this skill I will be able to decorate a bride pair for my daughter's spring beach wedding.  Need lots of practice. My lovely new neighbor showed me and some other women how to make these at a get acquainted coffee/craft hour yesterday morning.
DIY ~ The trick is to glue or sew seam binding around the thong.  Then you can hot glue what ever you want to the fabric.

I went thrift shopping.
Love this collection of vintage frames. They will be going in my shop as I have no place left to display anything in my home.  In fact I think I should sell everything and go minimalist at home.  Less to clean.  I do love all my shabby stuff and still can't bring myself to part with most of it.

Had a long time today to concentrate on photographing items for my Etsy shop.  The sunlight on the lanai was good and it wasn't to hot outside.
It is always fun setting things up for pictures.

Tomorrow is my third day off in a row. It feels like heaven to have some time off and be able to stay home and get things like these pictures accomplished.
What are you working on?

Running Free

My best girl and I went to the park.

It was so fun.
I got shingles again over Mother's Day and really missed being able to spend time with my little granddaughter.  Today we made up for lost time.  Lots of fun together at the park and even had a picnic supper there with Papa.

I am wearing my Team Boom Shirt for Tripp Halstead. Tripp He is a little boy that I and hundreds of thousands of others have been praying for. I feel like he is one of my own kids now. Prayer is so important to me. It is what got me through my own child's transplant surgery.

Vintage and New Etsy Fresh Summer Outfit

I love knitting shrugs and ballet wraps. This little green cotton wrap is for my daughter.  The pattern is here: Yogini.  Finishing this wrap got me thinking about what I could easily find on Etsy.com to pair with it. Let's build an outfit around it.

I hope it fits her and wouldn't it look cute with this pin on it?

This pretty pin is available on Etsy at my friend Amy's shop Dottie DigsVintage

This outfit is taking shape with the addition of this vintage dress found at

CT Mercantile another great vintage etsy shop.

How about some shoes and a clutch?

This adorable little purse would do the trick the color block in vivid yellow brings out the yellow center of the daisy pin. Found in this shop

Add a classic vintage shoe the espadrille as the finishing touch to this casual classy outfit.

Knitting and Cats

Mary was happy to see me arrive home from Boston.

She waddled over and sat on my knitting bag as soon as I unpacked.

Then of course she gave my Misti Alpaca and Tahki Cotton Classic Lite a good sniff. I love when yarn comes in the mail. Thank you Webs for the wonderful sale. Webs

It is good to be home, but I shall miss these two little boys every day.

Boston Vacation

What I did on my vacation.
I finally learned how to swaddle a baby. This is my best swaddle job to date. Room for improvement, but it did the trick.

Drove down Quincy Shore Drive.  It was a beautiful spring day.
Had to take pictures of the ocean at a very low tide and the marsh because marshes are so beautiful.
See how far out the tide goes.
Did some knitting
Had the best vodka tonic ever.

What I did in Boston

I touched a snake.

I never did that before. They really scare me. They also fascinate me.  Crazy.
My little grandson was playing and the neighbor children found baby garter snakes. He was so excited. The bigger kids showed them to him and asked if he wanted to touch them. He said No, but Gramma Anne does...
So I had to do it. One quick touch and then he did this.
He was awesome.
