We celebrated Mya's 2nd birthday. She had a wonderful time ! Happy Birthday little Mya.  We had spaghetti and an Elmo cake. The party included Mommy and Daddy, Papa and Gramma.  Of course Angie was available to lick up crumbs and finish Mya's spaghetti.  We are so blessed.  You are such a special girl.

Alzheimer's Death

stolen memory
Mama a string of shattered glass
refracting new meanings

A women of words, artist, Latin scholar
Alzheimer's you thief.
Her mind ordered a writer of lists
our historian broken
mistaking earrings for acorns.
dark cloak
of dreaded loss.

Words gone now
Mama a tiny speck of light
in eyes that see and don't see at all.

Alzheimer's you need
her vision too?
Unspeakably cruel to
steal til blind.
No you won't win.

My Mother's death
my head upon her breast.
Alzheimer's cowering
now in the
face of death.
I sang a hymn
Holy Holy Holy
I sang the doxology to you.

Alzheimer's mute and weak
Death now upon the room
a braver warrior than you.
Silent Night Holy Night
We watched with you
Chip and I as
Death descended and
Alzheimer's died.

Your eyes, your breath
your startling glance
your gasp
your soft breast.

As Death returned to you
Your life renewed.
June 20, 1912~December 31, 2008
Daddy appears a portal
from the room
you reached and turned
took flight your oldest
son your guide.

Left Chip and I
to witness
Alzheimer's Death.

Your spark of life
Filled that room
a gale of energy
you flew

Sock Yarn Snake Finale

Snake is slithering on my key board...ssssssssss

Sock Yarn Snakes

I have lots of sock yarn.  It makes great snakes.
I have made this yarn into finger less mitts but have yet to finish the first sock. Using up this pretty color way from Red Heart.  The snake pattern is from itty-bitty toys by Susan B. Anderson.  I made this snake the last time with left over worsted weight yarns. It came out huge.  Since Susan wrote the pattern for sock weight yarn I have always intended to do it up correctly.  It is taking even longer to finish, but I think it is going to be adorable.
So who needs a snake?

Picture Taking mitt Cell Phone

I am still sick with a cold, but did get out and take some new on the fence pictures with the  drat blasted smart phone  (smarter than me phone)...In an effort to make new banners...
Well that is Charlotte will help me make banners. She is smarter than me too.
I know Charlotte can fix this.  she is talented in many ways.
Finishing a new Eden Cocoon today with a pink satin ribbon.

I am hoping that Wicked Shots will be able to use it in their studio.

Tangled up and Tired

I have been honored for my tangles!  I have fanfare with trumpets that you will want to listen to here:
Thanks to Pamela W Allen for this outrageous and respected honor!
I will sit in the corner and knit neatly
Where have I been....the romantic land of vintage...
Hours and hours have been spent getting my vintage shop up off the ground.  It has been a fast and amazing journey.  I have had 16 sales already and am meeting some lovely people.  Here is where you can find me...
I am knitting as I type this...HA...lest you think I forget my knitting shop.  There is a very pretty treasury over to your top right by Astras Shadow that features my blue glass vintage bunny.
I multitask, and as I do that I constantly remind myself that even when multitasking I can only do one thing at a time.  Really.
