A Knitting Kind of Night

I love shopping on line for yarns. Look at these beautiful colors
available from Lion Brand here: link

Pink Poodle

Duckie

Sweet Pea
I love them.  I think Lion Brand makes a great product.  Perfect for baby projects.  Soft and washable. Pretty much non destructible.  That is what you want for busy moms on the go.
I will be making a custom order for my Cocoon and Cloche Hat with Flowers .
This will be for my Etsy shop here:  Knits by Weelambie

There are wonderful yarns available on Etsy.  Special Yarns! The kind of yarns you want to roll around in and drink in.
Like this one available at Wandering Cat Yarns
Rainbow Brite Alley Cat

Seriously I could eat it with a spoon!

My middle son and his wife are having baby number two in April.  We won't know if this baby is a boy or a girl until the moment it is born, but really isn't this an April kind of a color?
Iced Violets Twinkle Cat
Iced Violets is also available here: link @ Wandering Cat Yarns.
When I know what this baby is I will be getting some Wandering Cats for sure.

Knitting for American Girl Dolls

Since adopting my 18" doll from Goodwill I have been hunting down American Girl size doll clothes patterns to knit.

These bell bottom jeans and white tank top came out a little big and still need blocking.  The only reason they are big is I used a light worsted instead of DK.
The top is here: link and the jeans are here: link Both are available free on www.ravelry.com  I love the seventies styling of the jeans designed by Cathy Bird.

The jeans have eyelets and a ribbon tie at the waist.  They really flare on the bell bottom and I am tempted to embroider some flowers on them.

These jeans came about when I ran out of yarn on this project...

I went online and ordered another skein of Caron medium country blue, but what I needed had I been paying attention was ' lt country blue # 9709'.  I found a skein of it today at Michael's.  So happy to be able to finish this wonderful sweater.  The pattern is really great I have made it before.  It is designed by
Janet Longaphie and you can find it here: link

I think she will love her new cardi.

This is the reason that I ran out of yarn in the first place...Not pretty for adult knitters only.

I was a brat.  Well I was sick too.  I made a horrible cardigan and then proceeded to sew it together wrong.  I couldn't bear to pull apart the seams and  unravel it.  Hence the real frog pond for the last of that skein of Caron Lt Country Blue # 9709.
I know you're all horribly disappointed in me now.   I am sure I am the only one to ever give up totally and go to the pond.

Girls and Dolls

My little granddaughter visited this weekend and we played dolls.

We had so much fun today. I think the dolls did too.

I know Angie and Mya did.

Shipping Tackle

If  you don't know how you're going to pack it up ... don't try to sell it.

Case in point.

This is a really  great mess of old fishing stuff.  I have to say 'stuff' since I don't fish I don't know what else to say about it.

Now try and fit it all into this small flat rate priority box.  First rule...don't get a fish hook in your finger.   Yes it did all fit.  Never again though.

Kodak Moments and Moments

I am now friends with John in Central Texas.  He say's he is a beer connoisseur and would be happy to show me 1,300 alternatives to my usual Bud Light.  John works at the technical support company I use for my laptop.  We are good buddies after 2 hours of hooking up my new Kodak printer.  My bestie MaryJane said it would be "so simple to do".  Well I have my beer drinking buddies word that it was hard even when he set up his own Kodak printer at home.
Out of the box it looked possible.

Sleeker than my last printer and smaller...all good so far.

I loaded the disc and started to follow the prompts.  I was full of confidence that this time I'd be able to install something solo.

Two hours later my wireless system was all cables and wires.  I never would have been able to set this up myself.  I did what any reasonable person would do.  I got the socks project bag out and started working with yarn and sticks.  John did a wonderful job of  sorting out the connections working through the back door of my laptop.  In the end he had the new printer purring and wireless.  I had socks on sticks.
I love technical support

62 Birthdays and 1st Anniversary

Wonderful day puttering around the house working on Etsy photographs and listings. Today is the 1st  year anniversary of my Etsy shop WeeLambieVintage link and it has been a lot of Etsy fun and hard work.  My shop has flourished and I have made some great friends.

Mya met Patti PlayPal

I also celebrated my birthday today with two of my grandchildren while their parents got a much needed date night.
We Played

Brennan was adorable!
We had chocolate cake that hubby surprised me with~
It was a wonderful day.
Now to figure out how to semi retire...one of these days so I can concentrate on babies and Etsy and hubby...not necessarily in that order...have to have time for knitting too.

Christmas Neglect

Two years ago a lovely patient of mine gave me a Christmas Cactus.  Let me explain.  I do not have a green thumb.  I try to keep plants alive.  Really the best thing I can do for them is ignore them.
This cactus flourished when I first brought it home.  My cat Phoebe loved to sniff and taste it's leaves.  I had it in a copper pot that Mom used to keep her cactus in.  Over time it looked limp and cat worn.
Last spring I set it outside in a ceramic pot under the palm tree.
When it was dry out it shriveled.
When it was monsoon season it flooded.
Just before Christmas it blossomed.
This is how she is looking today.

Neglected by me watched over by Mother Nature.

'Goodwill' 2013

Goodwill Industries had a 50% off sale today.  While many would like to start off a new year with a clean slate I apparently wanted to start it off with a full shopping cart.
Nothing I love more than having a doll leap from the shelf into my buggy.
Except when it is more than one doll falling headlong into the buggy.  Along with enough milk glass to sink a small ship.
This big girl is an unmarked Patti Playpal type doll. She is seriously wonderful and has a handmade red cotton smocked dress to boot!.
AS always shopping was "so fun". I did have to inventory it all though.
These are the dolls I have found at thrift shops in the last ten days.  You can see I will be busy knitting them all something to wear.  I have one pretty little cardigan almost ready to block for the most naked one.
I took down my Christmas tree and before I had returned from putting it away in the closet in it's box the new kids had taken over the Christmas tree's spot and lined up just waiting to see what will fall from my needles.
Happy New Year Baby!
Anne
and here is Leo getting to big for his crib and not in the mood for a nap!
