Like a romp through your favorite vintage haunt my blog is stuffed with an eclectic mix of subjects. Vintage collections, writings, family photos and memories, daily devotion to living well in a world that requires us to recycle, edit and cherish our past and present day belongings. In talks with my dog Angie I'm aware of the basics of a simple code for life. Have respect, honor the past, protect the future.

Here's To 64
Birthdays are one day of the year when I'd really like my Mom to bake me a cake. The chocolate devils food baked in the aluminum tube pan with mocha icing smeared all over it in a thick layer. Miss you so much Mom.
Mom's birthday cakes are the best. I always had a black forest cake that only she could figure out how to make not too sweet. I've never had one like it since. Happy birthday! The 60's were a great time to be alive but I'm still waiting for MY 60's to equal them.
Happy Birthday, Anne!! What a sweet memory & heartfelt message. It is normal to long for your mom, especially on the day of your birth. I'm sure she is with you & will find a special way to let you know she is by your side. Hugs, AntiqueShopGirl
